Velvet rewards gentle handling. Keep away from rain, alcohol, and oils. If damp, stuff with white tissue paper and air dry naturally — never near heat. Clean velvet gently with a barely damp cloth; no soap, no scrubbing. Restore the pile with light steam or a brass suede brush on dry velvet. To retain the shape, store stuffed with tissue, away from direct sunlight.
